Corprenect

X

Inncuvate + INNOHUB@PGCC partnered with the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute, the Bowie Business Innovation Center and the University of Maryland Francis Key Carey School of Law to help entrepreneurs connect with large corporations (corporates) to better tap into local innovation and creativity.

our Approach

  • Corprenect combines elements of corporate internal innovation challenges, and National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps  (I-Corps) customer discovery, to create a program that directly engages corporates in the Maryland entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Provide a targeted matchmaking process between corporates in need of innovation and innovators working on technologies that are relevant to the corporate’s problems.
  • Create a sustainable way that Maryland entrepreneurs enter strategic partnerships with corporates that show up as research and development agreements, joint proposal development, pilot engagements, joint ventures, and/or investments.

our Results

The program delivered three cohorts with Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and  Under Armour

Teams that applied to the Corprenect cohorts: 78 companies

  • Northrop Grumman continued engagement: 4 companies
  • Lockheed Martin continued engagement: 8 companies
  • Under Armour continued engagement: 2 companies

The additional exponential value from the connections made is still being calculated.
