Community Colleges as Incubators of Innovation

X

Inncuvate + INNOHUB@PGCC partnered with National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) to present examples of community college entrepreneurial initiatives and their impacts through a couple of case studies as presented in the release of the book Community Colleges as Incubators of Innovation.

our Approach

  • The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), discussed their work and as the editors of the book Community Colleges as Incubators of Innovation and presented the premise that community colleges are uniquely positioned to lead entrepreneurial activities that connect classroom, campus, and the community.
  • This event is intended to increase the understanding of the role and value of the INNOHUB@PGCC which expands on that premise and creates a central place for innovation that leverages all of Prince George’s Community College’s assets.

our Results

  • Created a broader awareness of the transformation of the role of community colleges for 50 event attendees.
  • Presented the case that community colleges have an increasing role in fostering future workforce development, entrepreneur mindset, and entrepreneur development in their local communities.
  • Engaged various stakeholders  to create a common understanding of the role of Prince George’s Community College in economic development and regional impact.
  • Discussed examples of what’s possible and the INNOHUB@PGCC’s role in achieving those possibilities.
